It’s been awhile since I’ve done a thankful post, or gratitude list, if you will, so here is my list for this week 1. New Recipes

Journal 1So, I've decided that I'm going to start journalling. Normally this means with a pen & paper, personal diary style. That's not what I'm doing. I want to document my daily efforts, good and bad, through this journey. I want a record of it to look back on and maybe someday it will help others out too! as an entrepreneurI grew up a reader. My mom read to me from an early age and once I could read on my own, I kept going. Reading helps you explore your imagination, trying to envision what the characters look like, sound like, what their surroundings look like. It encourages empathy, imagining what the characters are feeling and how they are reacting to their situation. It also provides an “escape”, if you will. Depending on the type of book you are reading, you can be transported to different worlds, magical places and get lost from reality for a little while, it’s like a mind-cation (did I just make up a word? huh, must be channeling my inner-Seuss!)
So I thought with the upcoming launch of the first T-Shirt Drop on Always Be Designs, I’d post what I intend to be a regular post. Call it a Gratitude List, if you will. I think it is important step in living a positive life to acknowledge out-loud the things that you are grateful for, that make you smile. It helps you to focus on the positive things, no matter how small, in a world where you are brow beaten with negative images, news and people. I'm not the only one who thinks so, Erin Olivo Ph.D thinks so too! In her post on Psychology Today, Are Gratitude Lists Too Good to be True?,
she writes:"Gratitude increases happiness and is a great antidote to many things, including anger and bitterness" So here is mine for today! (It just also coincidentally happens to fall on #ThankfulThursday ;) ) 5 things that make me smile

AuthorI am a working mother and "wife" trying to make it by with a smile on my face! What you'll find here are my thoughts, dreams, and general musings as I explore this journey. "Positive thinking is more than just a tagline. It changes the way we behave. And I firmly believe that when I am positive, it not only makes me better, but it also makes those around me better."
