It’s been awhile since I’ve done a thankful post, or gratitude list, if you will, so here is my list for this week 1. New RecipesIn my quest to find a healthier (therefore happier) me I’ve been trying many new recipes. With them I’m discovering new flavours that excite my palette. The colours alone actually inspire me artistically. I’m also finding that my lack of need for salt to enhance the flavours in much of my food has been an added bonus. My favorite new find so far has been Cauliflower Chorizo Burrito. It has all of the taste and texture a traditional burrito should but the texture of ground beef comes from the cauliflower = food genius. 2. Finding a Great Workout
It’s gradual, building you up to the next day's routine. There IS one workout, it’s Pilates based called “Fabulous Flat Abs”. It’s 16 minutes in length. I really dislike it. I find the trainer a little condescending and the video is a little too advanced if you’ve neglected your abs. I just replaced the video with a repeat of the day before’s routine. The other video, however, Stronger: Fire ….It’s intense and I didn’t make it all the way through the first time, but I do love it! The trainer is inspiring, cheers you on even! He has a sense of humour and pushes you to do more, in a positive way. I suffer a little after this one but it truly feels good. 3. SleepSince I’ve been sticking to, nay, making myself commit to working out every day a wonderful side effect is that I am sleeping more soundly and waking up easier. Who doesn’t need that? 4. Birds
5. ProcrastinationNormally this should be a bad thing, I know, and for me it usually is. This week has been especially hard for me to do the things I know I should be doing. No particular reason, just kind of fell into a 2 day slump. However, putting off these things has led me to some serious focus and thought on direction. A little “me” time never hurt anyone. Meditation if you will. So there they are. Being a happier person comes with appreciating the little things that come your way and this week, those are mine. What are you thankful for this week?Let me know in the comments!
Yours Happily, M. Messina

AuthorI am a working mother and "wife" trying to make it by with a smile on my face! What you'll find here are my thoughts, dreams, and general musings as I explore this journey. "Positive thinking is more than just a tagline. It changes the way we behave. And I firmly believe that when I am positive, it not only makes me better, but it also makes those around me better."
